Suo Sdey Chnam Thmei (Happy New Year in Khmer)

I just wanted to wish all my Cambodian friends and my friends a happy Khmer (Cambodian) new year! The new year began on April 14 at 2:12 a.m. and the entire country has celebrations for three days. Shops shut down, people put powder on each other’s faces, lots of food is made and many people play games and dance.

I have so much writing and pictures to post the past two weeks including our elephant ride around Bayon, Angkor Wat sunrise, the generosity we experience from people every day here and much more. But for now, I just want to wish everyone a happy new year, new goals and a new beginning.
